The Manor : your home in the Village when you need a higher level of care and support
In the Manor, we recognise the special gifts and qualities of each of our residents, family members and our staff. We have created a secure and stable environment where life, love and laughter abound.
-
The Manor accommodates 64 Residents in single rooms with ensuites. Our common living areas include formal and informal lounges, formal and informal dining rooms, library, drawing room/craft/activities and a gym.
-
The care of our Residents is a partnership with families. We encourage you to use our dining room as a restaurant and join your loved ones for a meal. Familiar relationships are important in enabling our Residents to continue to engage in the lives of their families.
-
Residents are able to develop and maintain friendships through various groups within the Village and outings with family members.
-
The Manor has four individual houses each accommodating 15 Residents in single suites. Each house has a lounge/kitchenette that encourages friendships to be nurtured.
One of our four houses is additionally secure with keypad access doors and accommodates Residents with dementia in a smaller secure, familiar area.
-
In a secure, stable environment, life can still be spontaneous. Our lifestyle program is specifically tailored to supporting the needs of all Residents and embracing each moment as a valued lived experience.
-
The Manor is a ‘high-level care’ facility and Residents entering the facility are required to have Aged Care Assessment Approval for ‘high-level care’. Please be aware that priority entry to the Manor is given to Residents in the Village’s Aged Care Facilities. There is a waiting list for the Manor and times are variable depending on the availability of beds.

The cost of living in a Government Accredited Residential Aged Care Home is a combination of 3 areas that are assessed daily, but paid monthly in advance. Aged Care 101 explains this well on their website https://www.agedcare101.com.au/aged-care/working-out-your-finances
The Basic Daily Fee is the fee that every Resident pays regardless of their personal wealth or income. It is set by Government, updated at least twice yearly in line with the Aged Pension .
Care Fees
For most Residents all or most of the Care fees will be subsidised by the Commonwealth Government. To receive this assistance you must complete the relevant Services Australia Calculation of the cost of care form.
Accommodation costs
When Centrelink have completed your Cost of Care Assessment, they will also advise you how your Accommodation costs will be funded.
If your assets are below the Government’s Assets Free Threshold, all of our Accommodation costs will likely be subsidised by the Commonwealth Government,
If your assets are above the Asset Free Threshold but below the First Asset Threshold, you will share the cost of Accommodation with the Commonwealth Government on a sliding scale. The amount you have to pay is determined by the Government and shown in the Cost of Care letter. The share of costs between you and the Government are reassessed every 3 months and if a change occurs both you and the Aged Care Home you are a Resident of, will be written to advising of the change. It is important to understand that if your cost increases, the Government support amount decreases – the Provider does not get more if your cost increases.
If your Assets are above the First Asset Threshold, you will be responsible for all of your Accommodation Costs. The Manor rooms are all the same price $450,000 and you can choose to pay this in 3 ways
As a fully refundable, Government Guaranteed Lump Sum that will be repaid to you (or your estate) when you leave the Manor.
As a daily payment that is calculated using a Government determined interest rate on the amount of the lump sum that you have not paid. The current daily payment is shown on our myagedcare website profile available by clicking the link further up this page.
As a part lump sum and part daily payment, This is the most flexible option and enables you to pay some of your Accommodation costs in the form of a Government Guaranteed Lump Sum and the balance of the costs by a daily payment. If you choose this method, you can choose to use your Lump Sum to pay your daily payment. As time goes on, the balance of your refundable lump sum reduces and the amount of your daily payment increases.
